The Outer Worlds Devs Beg Fans To Stop Insulting Fallout 76 With Their Game

The Outer Worlds Fallout 76

With the upcoming RPG from Fallout: New Vegas developers Obsidian Entertainment set to arrive at some point this year, fans are getting excited for the adventure that awaits. However, some fans have been using The Outer Worlds to cut down Bethesda’s Fallout 76, and Obsidian is not okay with it.

Speaking with Game Informer, lead developers Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky stated that they don’t want fans of The Outer Worlds to use it against Fallout 76. “It’s disheartening when your game is used to tear down another game. They’re excited because your game is going to show up another game,” Cain said.

“That’s not what we’re making this for,” he continued. “We’re not making this to make anybody not want to play something else. We’re making it for people who want to play this.” Unfortunately, that can be the nature of things at times. Due to the controversial release of Fallout 76, and some people just not liking it, it can sometimes feel rather easy to cut the game down. As Boyarsky pointed out, that’s not how it should be.

“The fact that people think we’re trying to say something about another company’s games that people have put their heart and soul into is not something that we’re really happy about,” he said. The act of cutting one game down in favor of another is certainly nothing new, but it’s definitely something worth combating.

The Outer Worlds is set to arrive later this year for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
