The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Teaser Trailer Released (VIDEO)

Another E3 is upon us, and while this year’s event is once again a digital-focused event, it is still full of new gaming news and announcements. In recent years, Nintendo has usually been the big company to close out the major series of presentations made during the week. Nintendo already made its Nintendo Switch userbase happy so far during E3 2021 with the announcement of a new Mario + Rabbids game, but many have still been hoping for an update on the long-awaited sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. To please fans, a new Breath of the Wild 2 teaser trailer was indeed released for E3.

Nintendo has released The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 teaser trailer that made its debut during their E3 2021 Nintendo Direct presentation on their official YouTube channel. The teaser begins with the implication that Calamity Ganon is somehow arising once more, as flashes of the first game are shown. The trailer then shows Link, now in a new outfit, freefalling in the sky as a floating island of land in the sky lays below him. Following shots show that there are multiple instances of these floating islands. Link also passes a small squad of Bokoblins, mounted on a sentient rock monster that arises from the ground. Link is then shown using some of his abilities from the Sheikah Slate to combat enemies and solve puzzles.

The closing shots of the trailer seem to show that Ganon has once more taken control of Hyrule Castle once more, with it now floating slightly in the air above the rest of Hyrule. This all certainly seems like Breath of the Wild 2 is taking some inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but it is not yet known if any particular elements or characters from these games will be present. The Breath of the Wild 2 teaser also gives a 2022 release window for the sequel. While this may be a significant wait, it is good to see that the fresh breath of Zelda that came from Breath of the Wild lives on in this new sequel.
