the last of us part 2

Ever since the release of the PlayStation 5, fans have been wanting to see all of their favorite games given a shinier and updated new life on the now current generation of hardware. One such game many have hoped to see freshened up for the PS5 has been The Last of Us Part 2, which now has a new patch that boosts performance.

Patch 1.08 is currently live for The Last of Us Part 2, which brings a handful of enhancements to the game for those playing on PS5. Of course, the PS4 game does not have a version for the new console, and it’s unsure if one is on the way, but this patch helps get it to the point where some players may feel they are playing a next-gen version of the title. Enhancements include improved resolution, faster load times, a 60 fps target, and more.

“Once patch 1.08 for The Last of Us Part II is installed on your PS5, you will find a toggle in the Display options that allows you to choose between a Framerate Target of 30 FPS or 60 FPS,” reads the patch description. “This allows you to choose your preferred framerate to complement the rest of the enhancements that are part of the PS5 backward compatibility with PS4 games, such as enhanced resolution, faster load times, and more.”

The Last of Us Part 2 is currently available on PlayStation 4 as well as PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility. As for the new enhancement patch, it is also available now.
