The Last Of Us Part 2 Director Praises The PS5 And Its SSD Specs
It looks like yet another game developer has come forward to sing the PS5’s praises following a rather divisive presentation from Sony earlier this week. Amid concerns of rather confusing backwards compatibility claims and specs that at first glance seem inferior to that of the Xbox Series X, The Last of Us Part 2 director Kurt Margenau has released a statement explaining why he’s thrilled to be working with Sony’s latest console.
The Last of Us Part 2 director Kurt Margenau recently took to Twitter to express his excitement over the PS5, particularly the specs of the console’s SSD. Margenau even goes as far to saying that the console represents the “biggest leap” in his career. Check the full tweet below:
Obligatory: no I’m not hinting at anything ND is working on, just speculating based on those numbers.

“Still tripping about this #PS5 SSD spec,” he said in the tweet. “Like, people don’t even know how big of a leap in terms of game design can be made, especially for 1st party that doesn’t have to design to lowest common denominator. By far the biggest leap in my career. Can’t wait.”
Naturally, the comments section of the tweet jumped on him given that he works in a studio that’s owned by Sony. This is by no means the only first party employee that’s come forward to speak about the PS5 in a positive light, which will make things all the more interesting when he start hearing about it from third party dev studios.
The PS5 is slated to release in Holiday 2020.
