With three new games in the Gears of War series slated to arrive in the near future, excitement for the future of the franchise has been quite high. Gears 5 is promising to be a boldly different sequel in the core series, and new spinoffs Gears Tactics and Gears POP! promise some interesting new takes on the franchise. A film based on the original Gears of War has been in development for a while now, with the biggest recent headline-grabbing aspect being wrestler/actor Bautista’s burning desire to star in the film. Now, legendary actor Terry Crews has expressed his support for Bautista’s initiative, and has also expressed a desire to be in the film as well.

Terry Crews recently acknowledged Bautista’s Gears of War dreams on his official Twitter account. In response to Bautista’s verbal wishes to be in the Gears of War film that has been in production at Universal Pictures since 2016, actor Stephen Ford pitched an idea to his followers that Terry Crews would be a great fit for a Gears film that would star Bautista. Terry Crews happened to notice this tweet, sharing it with his followers and expressing his approval of the idea as well.

Crews then shared a photo of himself with Bautista from a previous event, showing that the two are on equal footing, quite literally in terms of physical height, in regards to realistically portraying characters in a Gears of War film. While it seems that Bautista has been unlucky in being able to be cast in the film or to even get the project into the next stage of production, perhaps this extra push from Crews could be what he needed to get the film into gear.
