Telltale Games reveal their 2017 update of titles and it may awe fans to know that the developers has done a fantastic job at keeping their lips sealed about everything, including the return of three highly anticipated and critically acclaimed series. Fans can rest easy knowing that the Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, and Batman are back in the spotlight. Yes, you read that right. Not only is the second season of Batman soon to arrive, so is the fourth and final season with Clementine, and a brand new story with Bigby. Telltale Games video announcement “Summer 2017 Update”, which can be seen below, give players a taste of what to expect for each upcoming season:

The first of five episodes for the second season of Batman “The Enemy Within” will premiere on August 8th, 2017 and it continues the story as Bruce and Batman – the separate identities in conflict while trying to do and figure out what is right for Gotham and himself. There is corruption, inner turmoil, and familiar villains and characters from the universe. Various hands at work on this series express their take on what is to come for season two and the steps the players may have to take in order to do what is deemed right. Succinctly, Writer James Windelere states:

We’re allowing the player to explore a philosophy of ‘a means to an end’. How far are they willing to go? What parts of themselves are they willing to compromise to get the job done?”

As seen in Telltale Games reveal video, the fourth and final Season of The Walking Dead will arrive in 2018. Players get to take on the role as Clementine once more. Based on the overwhelming feedback from fans and how she touched the hearts of so many, it only seemed right to continue her journey. By the end of season 3, through the heartbreak and suffering, Clementine could finally take a breath of hope and solace. Even in finding a functional family to surround herself with, by the end her goal was to find AJ. That is where the fourth season will begin.

What she’s gonna do when she finds him? That is the story of season four. That is the story of future Clem – who she wants to be, who she wants to be with, and how she wants to be? Those are decisions the players are going to make.”

Wolf Among Us has to be one of the most requested titles of Telltale Games from players and it’s one of those IPs that they have done a fantastic job at keeping wrapped up. While the studio never explicitly said the series will not return, there wasn’t much to say that it would either. At the same time, there was always the reassuring words of “we are listening”. Most recently, there was a statement from the designers that may have alluded to leaving the ending as is and not continuing the story “directly”. Oddly and hilariously enough, there will be “a new story, a new mystery” and “an all new set of stakes”. So, while the finale of season 1 may remain up in the air going into the second, Wolf Among Us is back and will also arrive sometime in 2018.
