The Walking Dead VR Games are Coming Soon for Fans
A recent announcement at E3 has confirmed that The Walking Dead virtual reality titles are currently in the works, and the games will involve a fair bit of zombie slashing fun. For fans of the franchise, however, these releases promise a bit more than just a new VR gaming experience to share with friends. The Walking Dead VR series, which has just entered the beginning stages of production, certainly will offer quite a bit of excitement as fans will have the opportunity to take on hordes of the undead right from the comforts of their homes.
Being released by Robert Kirkman’s entertainment companies Skybound Entertainment and Skydance Interactive, the goal of developers is to create “a number of original virtual reality video games based on the expansive world of The Walking Dead universe”. The games are set to feature a new setting, cast of characters, and an innovative contextual interaction system which will allow gamers to interface with other characters in the title and help develop their own. The statement about the game’s creation also promised a whole new world of entertainment with this coming title:
In a multi-year strategy, the two companies are collaborating to produce an unparalleled gaming experience that will offer millions of fans and gamers the opportunity to engage, interact, and immerse into the post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead and its characters in virtual reality.”
No word on when this game will officially release, or which virtual reality system it will be available on, but for the Walking Dead VR title, it certainly will be a long wait until it finally goes live. For more news on virtual reality gaming, check out these articles below to keep in the know:
