Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Even More DLC Fighters Leaked
The Nintendo Switch has received one of its biggest games ever in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate the experience providing fans plenty of the fast-paced fun the series’ has become famous for. The game has notably compiled the entire series’ characters into its biggest roster yet, and developers still have plenty more additions readily waiting in the wings. Though a small few of these supplemental personnel have been revealed by official means, a number of others have recently been the subject of leaks.
Following an earlier leak of a certain new character, a “proven tipster” over at Screen Rant has now reportedly spoiled the reveal of even more fighters. The list includes an array of popular characters such as Doom Guy from DOOM as well as Ryu Hayabusa from the Ninja Gaiden series. It’s also worth mentioning that Erdrick from Dragon Quest was yet again mentioned to be part of the game, all but confirming his upcoming addition to the roster.
Also reportedly included in the leak were several equally exciting alternate skins. Minecraft’s Steve was said to have access to his female counterpart Alex as well as the inexplicable inclusion of Master Chief from Halo. Additionally, Doom Guy will have a alternate skin resembling his retro look in DOOM 64, and Erdrick will feature optional palette swaps to resemble Dragon Quest characters Anlucia, Luminary, and a third female version of the character.
While this incredible assortment of fighters seems too good to be true, it should be said that this “proven tipster” has earned their stripes in the past. Screen Rant pointed out that the same source had provided an accurate scoop regarding GranBlue Fantasy Versus, leaking the title’s existence days before it was officially announced this past December.
Many of these selections make a fair amount of sense for the Nintendo Switch title such as Steve and Doom Guy. Both Minecraft and DOOM have upcoming titles set to arrive sometime in 2019 in DOOM Eternal and Minecraft Dungeons, and the strategic addition of these two characters would be an excellent way to establish hype on the hybrid console.
It’s the once again snubbing of Waluigi that may be the takeaway with some fans, as there remains no mention of the immensely popular character’s inclusion. Whether it will happen is still unclear, but it’s not as though Nintendo isn’t aware of the character’s massive demand.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now for Nintendo Switch.
