Super Smash Bros Set Arrive To Nintendo Switch This Year, According To Reports

The Super Smash Bros series takes the many characters from various franchises into the ring so to speak, having up to 4 players duke it out for first place. Sometimes bonds are strengthened or friendships destroyed, but it’s all in the name of competition. According to a source, the fun brawling action may very well be heading to the Nintendo Switch. Not only as one of the most highly requested ports out there, but it’s a fighter that can’t be beat.

With the popularity Nintendo’s hybrid console has gained, what better way than to bring one of their most popular series to the latest system? Based on information provided by industry professional, Emily Rogers, she stated two things can be “confirmed”:

Unfortunately, I don’t have enough information to speculate whether Smash Bros will be branded/marketed as a “deluxe definitive edition port”, a “halfsequel” or a “full sequel”. I can only confirm two things:
1.
A Smash Bros title will be announced and released for Switch later this year.
2. They added brand new content and re-worked some of the existing Wii U/3DS content.”

With that being said, it would be advisable to take this lightly and as the rumor that it is. Though there’s a very good possibility of it coming true, official news has not been revealed by Nintendo themselves. It’s possible information may come from future Nintendo Direct presentations. Seeing as rumors of Bayonetta 3 came true after much speculation from the community and also evasiveness from the company, there’s always a bit of hope.
