Super Monkey Ball Returns With An Epic New Trailer (VIDEO)

Earlier this year, there were rumors suggesting that Sega had something planned for its Super Monkey Ball franchise, though it was unknown whether it was a brand new title or a re-release of an older game in the series. Now it appears we have our answer, as Sega has unveiled a gameplay trailer for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD. Check it out below:

Originally released on the Nintendo Wii back in 2006, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD will offer its players more than just a fresh coat of paint. The game is getting loads of new original stages on top of the existing levels from its initial release, along with a revamped control scheme that ditches the original motion controls in favor of analog sticks. Fans can also look forward to 10 multiplayer mini-games. Speaking of multiplayer, the upcoming title will officially be the first entry in the series that features an online leaderboard for those looking to challenge other players around the world. There will be two separate leaderboards: one for the single player Time Attack mode, and one for the mini-game decathlon Score Attack modes.

This may not be the only Super Monkey Ball news to look forward to. Just a few weeks ago, the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee rated Tabegoro! Super Monkey Ball for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Sega has yet to mention anything about a new title, though the rating itself is indicative of something new headed our way.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD releases one October 29, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
