The Sub-Zero DLC for Injustice 2 Has Received a Release Date
During last week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon revealed that Sub-Zero will be arriving in Injustice 2. Worlds will collide as everyone’s favorite cryomancer from Mortal Kombat comes to freeze the competition in the DC brawler. However, no release date was given as to when the Sub-Zero DLC would make its way to the game. Luckily, it didn’t take too long for Boon to disclose this information, and with the arrival of Game of Thrones nearly upon us, winter will be coming twice next month.
As seen below, the Injustice 2 creative director took to Twitter to let everyone know “Winter is coming…..in July.” Set to launch on the 11th day of the seventh month of the year, the Sub-Zero DLC will be the second of three entrants in the first season fighter pack. Red Hood arrived earlier this month, and with Sub-Zero showing up in July, fans of Injustice 2 can expect Starfire to be added in August. At least, one can only hope.

Not much is known as to what will come after the first fighter pack, as NetherRealm has remained rather tight-lipped on the situation. However, Ed Boon has previously mentioned that the door is basically always open for Watchmen characters. Well, he didn’t exactly put it that way, but we can always dream of Doctor Manhattan obliterating everything and everyone in Injustice 2. Who knows, maybe more Mortal Kombat fighters are on the way. Scorpion was in the first title, so it is entirely possible others could be coming. Better yet, let’s attempt to convince Boon and team to add Clay Fighter characters!
What say you, gamers? Excited that the Sub-Zero DLC is just around the corner? What other fighters would you like to see make an appearance in Injustice 2?
