Xbox One and PC owners rejoice! Undead Labs has finally revealed a State of Decay 2 release date, following their successful first and original zombie, survival RPG. During a public livestream, developers elaborate on the details for the upcoming launch, including prices and the various pre-order bonuses. There’s even an exclusive peek at gore-y gameplay.

Thanks to the people over at IGN, an action-packed first-look at State of Decay 2′s gameplay was unveiled, showing just how difficult it is and how it differs from other zombie survival titles out there. The graphics have received an obvious overhaul in quality, mechanics are a lot smoother, and death just as gruesome if not more so. Check it out below:

Aside from the State of Decay 2 release date announcement, pre-orders are available now for both PC and Xbox One. There are various pre-order bonus versions to be had, though what that entails depends entirely on which participating retailer players purchase through. There’s also two different editions – Standard and Ultimate. The Ultimate Edition includes 4 days of early access beginning May 18th, alongside two DLC packs titled “Independence” and “Daybreak” – both of which will be available at a later date. As the cherry on top, a download code for State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition is included too. As for the standard version, that’s fairly self-explanatory.
