Stardew Valley Confirmed For Mobile, iOS Launching Soon (VIDEO)
Farming and interacting with small townsfolk in Stardew Valley has always been gated-off to those on PC and consoles, having even brought the popular experience to the Nintendo Switch just last year. Now the pixelated fun has been confirmed for the landscape of mobile devices, adding some pocket-sized portability to the proceedings.
Publisher Chucklefish Games have now announced that Stardew Valley is on the way to iOS and Android devices, with the Phone and iPad seeing the game in the App Store later this month on October 24th. The surprise reveal was accompanied by a trailer, which can be viewed below:
Ported by mobile developer The Secret Police, the look of the game seems pretty unchanged, which is to be expected in an intentionally 16-bitted game such as this. The most major change seems to lie with the updated controls and streamlined menu interface, as it makes sense to accommodate touch screen controls. One especially nifty feature is the ability to transfer saves from PC to mobile via iTunes, but be warned that saves containing mods are prone to compatibility issues.
While those with access to devices under the Apple brand are likely excited, Android users need not fret as Chucklefish states that they haven’t forgotten about them. The platform was assured to have a version from The Secret Police sometime in the future with additional news coming as soon as they have it.
The team are working on it! It will be coming to Android – date currently TBC. More news when we have it 😊

A feature understandably not being implemented at launch is multiplayer, as it only just launched for PC in August. The community feature is currently under active development for all remaining platforms, with creator ConcernedApe confirming Nintendo Switch will get the mode next. However, with the inclusion of mobile into the fold, the question of whether future consoles could see delays would understandably arise. It seems this will definitely not be the case, with ConcernedApe and Chucklefish confirming with fans on Twitter.
I'm doing everything within my power to get Xbox One and PS4 MP updates out as soon as possible! The mobile port was done by a completely separate company and had no impact on the development of console MP.

Hi there, the development of the mobile port has had no impact on the development of the console Multiplayer ports. They are being worked on by two entirely separate teams/companies.
