Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Film Reportedly In The Works

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is regarded as one of the most beloved video games of all time, with a devoted fanbase full of people of all ages. In addition to this, the fanbase for the game has been full of people who have wanted to see the title adapted into film, and it looks like they might be getting their wish.

As reported by BuzzFeed, there is currently a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic film being written for Lucasfilm by Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island). For those who don’t know, KoTOR takes place roughly 4,000 years prior to the events that take place in Star Wars: A New Hope. According to BuzzFeed’s three unnamed sources, Kalogridis is nearly finished with the first script of what may be a possibly Knights of the Old Republic trilogy.

It was revealed by Disney earlier this year that after The Rise of the Skywalker, the final film in the Skywalker family’s saga, releases later this year, the next Star Wars movie won’t arrive until December 2022. That movie will be headed by Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and it will be the first part of a new trilogy. There is no telling when fans can expect a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic film to arrive, but we at least know that one just might arrive in the not terribly distant future.
