Star Wars Battlefront 2 Is Epic Games Store’s Next Free Game

It has been a few years since DICE released Star Wars Battlefront 2, and while the game was quite problematic at first, the developers have since turned things around. That said, those who have yet to check out the title will soon have the opportunity as Epic Games Store will be giving it away for free next week.

When Epic’s current free game, Crying Suns, arrived, it was also revealed that the next title is Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition. For those who don’t know, the Celebration Edition includes a plethora of goodies for fans to enjoy. As stated above, the devs has since revamped the game with new maps, modes, characters, and more. All of this content is included with the Celebration Edition for all to enjoy, and beginning on January 14th, players will be able to pick up the game completely free of charge.

Really, the only bad news for anyone coming to the game this much time after release is the fact that there will be no new content coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2. The last bit of major content to arrive was the Battle of Scarif update, which added Scarif from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to the game as a location. However, this could also be seen as a good thing as those who pick it up for the first time next week will be experiencing the full game. As for what DICE has planned for the future, only time will tell.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with the Epic Games Store offering it for free from January 14th until January 21st.
