Spyro Remastered Nintendo Switch Retail Listing Spotted

Spyro Remastered Nintendo

After months and months of rumors, teases, and leaks, the anticipatory fires of gamers were finally quenched as the Spyro Reignited Trilogy was officially announced today. This new HD remaster collection of the first three Spyro games that released on the original PlayStation will introduce a new generation of players to the famous purple dragon. The trilogy collection was officially confirmed for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year, but no mention of any other consoles has been made by Activision. However, an indication of another possible console has been seen today, as a listing for a Spyro Remastered Nintendo Switch version appeared on the official Nintendo UK website.

Many individuals reported that a listing for the new Spyro Reignited Trilogy was visible on the official Nintendo UK website earlier today before being taken down. The listing, as seen above in a screenshot shared by Pixelpar on their official Twitter account, seemed to indicate that a Spyro remastered Nintendo Switch version would indeed be available for £39.99, roughly the same price that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are reportedly going to be sold for. It should be noted that the listing refers to the game as “Spyro the Dragon Remastered” instead of the official “Spyro Reignited Trilogy” title that has been made known today.

Spyro and the critters

It certainly would not be an impossibility for the Spyro trilogy to come to the Switch, especially considering that the most recent Toys for Bob-developed classic game trilogy, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, was recently confirmed to be coming to the Switch. Most Switch owners would likely be welcome to the option of having these first Spyro games with them on the go, and would hopefully create the ‘Sparx’ needed to bring more classic PlayStation games to the Nintendo system.
