Spider-Man PS4 Confirms Sinister Six (VIDEO)
Spider-Man PS4 has quickly become one of the most anticipated games of 2018. The bombastic trailer at E3 helped the hype train reach max capacity. We saw five villains battle our hero, making us wonder how many baddies Peter Parker would have to face. We now know we’ll see at least one more in Insomniac’s next game.
During an interview with PlayStation Access, Spider-Man PS4 creative director Bryan Inithar confirmed that players will do battle with the Sinister Six. The E3 trailer heavily hinted at this fact, but now there is no doubt about it. Speculation has run rampant on the sixth member of the team, but we know that it will not be Venom. My money is on Dr. Octopus, but Green Goblin almost certainly has to make an appearance, right? The team agonized over their decisions, so let’s hope they chose correctly. And even if neither makes the Sinister Six cut, we still have a decent chance of seeing them in combat.
Despite this knowledge, we aren’t any closer to knowing who will make up the super villain team. Marvel has run through about a thousand iterations of the Sinister Six. We are left to guess who is the final member of the infamous sextet. In truth, we should probably wonder who the fifth member is as well. Mr. Negative was never a member of the Sinister Six, not even when they went to the Sinister Twelve. Considering how far Insomniac has gone to stay faithful to the comics, his inclusion may spark some ire among diehards.
Also in the video, we see some of Spidey’s stealth skills as he takes down a batch of thieves. He then dukes it out with Kingpin, whose appearance was previously confirmed. In addition to balancing different styles of combat, the game will also provide a balance between Spider-Man and Peter Parker. However, those lives will often overlap, as they do in both the comics and the films.
Spider-Man PS4 swings into action on September 7. You can preorder the game and the PS4 Pro bundle now.
