Spider-Man Returns In First Trailer For ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ (VIDEO)
We’ve heard plenty of tidbits regarding Marvel Studios‘ planned sequel for Spider-Man: Homecoming, but hardly anything official by way of of the MCU studio. It seemed Spidey fans would continue to get the cold shoulder following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, especially given the impact of the film’s particularly snappy finale. However, it appears Marvel has gone ahead and revealed Spider-Man: Far From Home anyway with a fittingly spectacular trailer.
Following his big battle with Thanos, it looks like Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is heading out on a much-deserved European vacation with his buddies. This relaxed atmosphere of taking in sights and getting flirty with MJ (Zendaya) is halted when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) swoops in to recruit Mr. Parker for yet another baddie-fighting mission. While Spidey’s busy with the threat of elemental enemies, we see the introduction of a new challenger in the form of Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio. Check out the trailer below.
Marvel fans have been predictably wowed by the trailer debut of Spider-Man: Far From Home, many expressing their excited thoughts over social media. Consensus on the trailer looks to be a mixture of hype and confusion, with many praising the stunning reveal of Mysterio and others raising an eyebrow to how certain characters have returned following the events of ‘Infinity War.’

With Captain Marvel set to be Marvel’s next outing and Avengers: Endgame bringing closure in April, this would seem to be our first look at Phase 4 of the MCU. However, this may be the only footage we’ll be getting for a while, especially when the two aforementioned movies are probably about to head into full marketing mode. Until then, the web-slinger’s next adventure is likely going to be kept under wraps until we get closer to Spider-Man: Far From Home’s release on July 5th.
What do you think? Are you excited about the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, or do you think Marvel should have held off until after Avengers: Endgame?
