New SoulCalibur VI Trailer Introduces Groh, Reveals More Returning Characters (VIDEO)
Bandai Namco has released a new SoulCalibur VI trailer, and with it comes the first look at a new character to the series, Groh. Known as ‘The Secret Messenger’, Groh wields a double-bladed sword that can be detached, enabling the newest addition to the roster to quickly lay the hurt on his opponents. Watch Groh kick some butt in the new SoulCalibur VI trailer below:
As seen in the trailer, Groh appears to be quite the exciting addition to the SoulCalibur VI roster. The Secret Messenger mixes quick blade strikes with chargeable sword attacks, and he also has a gap closer that looks, well, pretty freaking awesome. Overall Groh gives off a sort of Dark Knight vibe from the Final Fantasy series, especially given his red auras and, let’s be honest here, pretty boy hair.
In addition to Groh’s bulk of the trailer, the video also serves to reintroduce several series mainstays to the game. The characters revealed are Nightmare, Kilik, and Xianghua, each of which get a portion of the trailer in which they reveal to players their unique play-styles. As a unique bit of awesomness, Kilik can be seen at the very end of the trailer delivering an overkill attack with Soul Edge. Bandai Namco also recently confirmed the character availability for the upcoming playable demo of the game at EVO Japan 2018. The available characters in the demo are Groh, Nightmare, Kilik, Xianhua, Mitsurugi, and Sophitia. SoulCalibur VI is slated to arrive on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One at some point in 2018.
