Skyrim Multiplayer Mod Now In Beta (VIDEO)

Earlier this month, a team of modders announced the forthcoming arrival of a mod that would bring multiplayer capabilities to Skyrim. Despite its renown as a solo campaign, there are plenty of folks who’ve always wanted to explore the massive world with their friends. Thanks to a mod titled Skyrim Together, their wish may soon come true. Well, eventually anyway.

While there’s currently no release date at this time, the developers are hard at work at tackling their to-do list, but they’re prepped and ready for a closed beta for a select audience. Those of whom currently support Skyrim Together via their Patreon account, they can now participate in a closed beta.

The developers hope to bring an open beta to a larger audience soon, but they’ll have to keep it on a smaller scale for now. During this phase, each of their servers can technically hold up to 64 players, but they recommend groups between 2-8 people. Venture on quests, take down monstrous creatures, and travel together in groups! Check out some sample play direct from the creators:

“We aim to develop a ‘true’ Skyrim multiplayer experience that aims to bring online multiplayer for the players. Our focus is to create a co-op experience for about 2-8 players with your friends, not an MMO,” the developers state on Reddit. “Our current goal is to create a bug-free experience in where Skyrim can be played start to end without any major alterations to the vanilla experience. You will be able to play with other mods as well.”

Skyrim Together will host a variety of features including good old Skyrim fun and even PvP. For more information on the mod itself, check out their Reddit page. In order to get started, Patreon supporters will need to create an account on the mod’s official website here and add their friends before setting off!
