While Bethesda isn’t looking to add events to Skyrim, many fans have decided to build a festive mod to put those playing in the spooky spirit. For Skyrim players looking to get into the mood of candy-based, scary holiday, look no further than the Skyrim Halloween Overhaul. There’s a whole host of decorations, quests, music, monsters, textures, equipment, and more!

The overhaul has been a work in progress since 2012, slowly adding more fun and interesting ideas to the world. With Halloween creeping closer, many are looking forward to a new update to explore. Check out some of what the creator has done in his video demonstration below:

The modder has spent a lot of time on this game, and as you can see above, they’ve really captured the spirit of Halloween in Skyrim. The mod is three separate downloads and requires Skyrim DLC Dawnguard (for obvious reasons). Here is what the modder, Teirdalin, had to say:

Incase you missed HO12, and HO13, Halloween Overhaul is basically a mod which adds new music, quests, locations, decorations, and whatnot; this mod should be compatible with most other mods which don’t directly effect cities and already existing npcs, but even then it should still be compatible if you run the other mods after it in the load order; although you may notice things not being as decorated.”
