Seth MacFarlane’s Star Trek Spoof “The Orville” Receives First Trailer (VIDEO)

The Orville

Seth MacFarlane is a man of many talents, providing voices for several animated shows, being a writer, director, musician, and a generally funny guy. While not everyone is a fan of his brand of humor, there’s no denying that he has found success wherever he has pointed his artistic abilities. His latest venture comes in the form of a live-action Star Trek spoof, entitled The Orville. While the next series in the franchise Star Trek Discovery is set to hit the small screen at some point in the future, fans may have to look to The Orville in order to get any sci-fi goodness. Even if it is making fun of the beloved Trek-verse.

MacFarlane and Adrianne Palicki(Friday Night Lights, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) star in the comedy as a divorced couple that are forced to work together aboard a new ship. Seth’s character, of course, was the not the first choice to be the pilot, as is seen in the video below. They will lead their crew throughout what one could safely assume will be a galaxy full of shenanigans. The Orville is set to invade televisions on Thursday nights sometime this fall, but you can check out the first trailer below:

The sci-fi comedy will also feature Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Penny Johnson Jerald, Halston Sage, and more. If the show finds lasting success, we can only assume a plethora of cameos will be seen. Who knows, we might even see Sir Patrick Stewart himself making fun of something that he was a part of a long, long time ago. Wait, that is definitely the wrong series. Oh well. The Orville will air on Fox, but we all know what happens to sci-fi series on that network. Good luck, Seth! Stay tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers for more entertainment news.
