SEGA Hints at Bayonetta Content Coming Soon with a Mysterious Countdown Website
It’s no April Fool’s joke this time, at least, not based on what can be surmised. After the gag game 8-Bit Bayonetta content that was released by the company on Steam players called it a day and moved on. However, a theory has been circulating around the idea that the sexy, shape shifting gunslinger will be making a PC debut very soon and it’s something fans want. However, there seems to be much more to it than meets the eye! An achievement on 8-Bit Bayonetta hid a URL that took players to a website, a simple one with a timer and a very faint picture of a foot sporting high heels with built-in handguns and shells falling to the ground. Of course, it belongs to none other than the lady herself. At the foreground is a mysterious countdown timer with just 7 days left on the clock. That prompts the question – could this mean SEGA will be releasing the original title on PC? Or could it be a new installment for the latest platforms?
Users on Reddit have already confirmed that the background image comes from the Collector’s Edition of Bayonetta for the Xbox 360 console. Others theorize that the relationship between the gag game on Steam and a potential release on PC have nothing to do with each other. Rather, given past relations with Nintendo, it would make more sense to see a release on the Nintendo Switch.
The conversations can go on, but the real news is just a week away. Who knows what SEGA has in store? Another Reddit user suggested that this could just be an extended April Fool’s joke in an elaborate plan to troll fans of the franchise. At this point in time, everything is just speculation. For those curious about witnessing the website in all it’s minimalistic glory, check out the link here!
So, players and fans alike, what other theories could there be for the mysterious timer? Could there be something else people are overlooking? Could it be new Bayonetta content?
