‘Road Redemption’ Nintendo Switch Port Confirmed

The spiritual successor to Road Rash is making its way onto Nintendo’s hybrid console, the Switch, in the near future! Road Redemption for the latest platform from the Big N has finally been confirmed and is officially “in the works,” making it one more title to the ever growing library for gamers on the go.

The news broke via Twitter and in a very subtle way. Instead of a grand reveal, the reveal was hiding within a small interaction on the social media between one fan and the official Twitter account:

Road Redemption has been available on PC since October of last year and was met with “Very Positive” reviews on Steam! With the mechanics of the Switch, this title will actually do really well on the platform – especially so with the special joy-con technology that Nintendo offers.

For more about the game, as per its Steam listing:

“Road Redemption is an action racing game where you lead your motorcycle gang on an epic journey across the country in a brutal driving combat adventure. Earn money by completing races, assassinations, robberies, and other challenges in your path. As you collect loot, you’ll upgrade your character, your bike, and your weapons. ”

Road Redemption takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, ruled by a brutal dictator. Fans of Mad Max will feel right at home here.”

After years of bloody street warfare, the country’s biker gangs have settled into an uneasy truce.  This period of peace is interrupted when the leader of the country’s richest weapons cartel is assassinated, and a $15,000,000 bounty is put on the mysterious assassin’s head.

It’s up to you and your fellow gang members to chase down the assassin and claim this prize, but you’ll have to drive through enemy territory to do so. Every biker in the country wants a piece of that $15,000,000 bounty, and they won’t hesitate to take out those who get in their way.

Other Features

  • Online Multiplayer
  • Tons of brutal weapons. This is more Twisted Metal than it is Mario Kart
  • 4-player splitscreen co-op.
  • Massive, expandable skill tree. Rack in the loot to upgrade your character, your bike, and your weapons.
  • A deep motorcycle fighting system with grabs, kicks, counters, critical strikes, and more.
  • Full support for both mouse & keyboard and gamepad control configurations.

Though we don’t have a release date at this time, it is nice to know it’s coming at all! With E3 right around the corner, we can’t wait to see what else the Big N has in store for gamers!

What do you think about the latest game to make it over onto the Nintendo Switch’s library? What else would you like to see ported over? We’ve gotten Skyrim, Wolfenstein II, hell – even DOOM! The sky is the limit! Sound off with your thoughts on your dream pick in the comment section below. Don’t forget to also check out DFTG on Twitter for gaming and entertainment news live 24/7!
