Resident Evil 3 Remake ESRB Rating Guarantees Blood, Violence, And More
We are just a month away until fans are able to sink their teeth into the highly anticipated Resident Evil 3 remake, which is set to drop on April 3rd. That said, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has officially rated the game M for Mature, and there is plenty ahead in terms of violence, blood, and more.
Of course, we have all come to love the guts and blood that have been features in the Resident Evil series, but it’s always nice to have confirmation that more is to come. The rating confirms that Resident Evil 3 features “decapitation and/or dismemberment of enemies, often accompanied by large splatters of blood, as well as “mutilated corpses/zombies with exposed organs and viscera.” You know, the good stuff.
For those wondering what the full rating for Resident Evil 3 says, here it is:
“This is survival-horror action game in which players assume the role of a special units member (Jill Valentine) as she tries to escape a zombie outbreak. From a third-person perspective, players traverse various environments (e.g., subways, city streets, building corridors) as they avoid being attacked by zombies and large enemy creatures. Players use pistols, machine guns, shotguns, and explosives to defend themselves and kill creatures. Some attacks result in decapitation and/or dismemberment of enemies, often accompanied by large splatters of blood. Cutscenes depict additional acts of violence: a man executed at close range; a character impaled through the chest by a creature’s tentacle. A handful of areas depict mutilated corpses/zombies with exposed organs and viscera. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” are heard in the dialogue.”
The Resident Evil 3 remake is set to arrive on April 3rd for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
