Red Dead Redemption 2 To Present Players With More Choices

Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar Games made good on their promise to make this past Wednesday a bit more red. With the release of the latest Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, players are becoming even more hyped for the upcoming title. That being said, more information about the game has begun to see the light of day, including the fact that it will offer more choices during gameplay.

This means that players will have the freedom to do what they want and when they want to. If a mission pops up that isn’t your cup of tea, you will have the choice to not do it. Of course, this could adversely affect the protagonist and his associations. The following example was provided:

“Pearson is the camp cook and when Arthur walks past he’s told the meat supply is running low. Importantly, this isn’t a cutscene that triggers a mission, it plays out as Morgan is walking along, still sipping his coffee.”

“That’s the case with almost every interaction we saw throughout the demo – the camera doesn’t cut away, instead keeping you at the heart of the action, with interactions triggered through a combination of proximity or Arthur choosing to continue the conversation,” they continued. “As a result it felt Morgan had a choice: he could ignore Pearson’s plea and talk to someone else, but in this instance he agrees to help.”

It’s also worth noting that while the playable Arthur Morgan will have a bounty of choices, even if he decided not to do them, the camp will push on. It may not function as well as it could with the help of Morgan, but it will live on.

This also poses the question of whether or not we’ll have decide who dies and who lives. Is Red Dead Redemption 2 more along the lines of a linear story with only one ending that is unchanging regardless of players’ actions? Will there be a bounty of options when it comes to ending the upcoming story? Only time will tell.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to arrive on October 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming news going on right now, check out the following:
