Ratings Filing Suggests a New Telltale Batman Game is Inbound
The holy grail of comic conventions, San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), is just days away now. Speculations and nerd driven excitement is running at full steam, and for good reasons. The latest belief involves popular developer Telltale Games and the iconic DC Comics hero Batman. While the developer isn’t new to the world of Gotham’s Dark Knight, a recent ratings filing suggests that the next chapter in the Telltale Batman series may be revealed at SDCC.
Fans of Telltale Games are already expecting an announcement at this year’s San Diego Comic Con due to a neoteric Twitter post that reads: “News Coming This Week During #SDCC.” Many fans have hypothesized that a new Wolf Among Us game might be headed our way because voice actress Melissa Hutchison (Toad Jr./Beauty) re-tweeted the post. It’s a stretch, but sometimes voice actors unintentionally give things away, so it is a little understandable why some might be using her tweet as a clue. This clearly doesn’t add up to another Batman game though.

The Bat-speculation derives from the Film and Labeling Body of New Zealand in which a rating was filed for a game titled Batman: The Enemy Within. Telltale is not mentioned in the post, but Game Director Kent Mudle is listed as the director to the new title. Mudle has worked on the Game of Thrones Telltale game as well as The Walking Dead: Michonne. It just so happens that the director also worked on the first Telltale Batman title.
Until an official announcement comes from Telltale, this is purely hearsay. However, as was the case with Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2, the ratings postings can very well turn out to be legitimate. Thankfully, fans only have a few more days to wait to find out if another Telltale Batman game is in our midst. Are you hoping the ratings filing means there’s another Bat-tale coming soon?
