PUBG Corp Donating Over $2 Million To Gaming Charities

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is one of the most popular games in the world right now, eclipsing even DOTA 2 on Steam’s list of most concurrent players playing at one time. As such, developer PUBG Corp – formerly Bluehole – is raking in some serious money as a result, between game sales for the PC and Xbox One and microtransactions from PUBG crates. Now it appears that PUBG Corp is looking to give back to the masses, as it has been announced that the developer is going to be giving a significant amount of money to video game charities.

The PUBG developer plans on giving $2 million to gaming charity events this year. The charity organizations on the list are the PUBG Extra Life marathon, Gamers Outreach, as well as another unnamed campaign to be announced later this year. The money to be donated comes from the sale of special PUBG crates during last year’s Gamescom. PUBG Corp expressed its appreciation for content creators and its desire to participate in charity events in a recent statement. “It’s been great to see content creators and their audiences using their talents for worthy causes, and PUBG Corp. is committed to supporting charity efforts with the same enthusiasm our players have shown,” said PUBG community manager Sammie Kang.

We’ve made an impact in the gaming world over the past year, and we’re hoping to have even more of an effect on some outstanding charitable organizations in 2018.”

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available for PC, as well as for Xbox One as part of Microsoft’s Xbox game preview program. PUBG recently launched version 1.0 on PC last month, which also brought to the table the game’s new desert map, Miramar.
