Final Fantasy XIV Butterfinger Collab Announced Featuring A Unique Chocolatey Mount (VIDEO)

Remember when Square Enix announced that it was offering an exclusive Final Fantasy VII Remake Tifa PS4 theme and DLC for folks that purchased Butterfingers? Well of course you do! If not, read here. I’m still salty that the Japanese publisher ended up giving the DLC away for free later on, but I digress. Square Enix has seemingly decided that it enjoyed the collaboration enough to do it again, this time offering a fancy, chocolatey new mount for the denizens of Final Fantasy XIV.

As reported by Gameinformer, a new collaboration has been announced between Final Fantasy XIV and Butterfinger. Essentially, purchasing $5 worth of Butterfingers, taking a picture of the receipt, and uploading it to a specific website (which goes live next month) will reward players with the exclusive Chocorpokkur mount, which is basically a chocolate covered version of the Korpokkur Kolossus mount. See it in action below:

As noted in the video, the chocorpokkur mount can be used on the ground, in the air, and underwater. That’s about it, there are no other special interactions with it and you certainly can’t eat it, maxed out CUL level be damned. The only other time this unique mount was available was through a previous collab between Square Enix and the Japanese convenience store chain Lawson. As such, now is likely the best time to snatch one up for $5 worth of candy bars, if you feel so inclined to do so. The collaboration goes into effect from May 3 (happy birthday, me!) to June 30.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC and PS4, with the PS5 version currently in Open Beta and scheduled for a full release later this year.

Thoughts on the new collab? Plan on shelling out some gil for a few Butterfingers to snag the unique mount?
