PS4 System Update 8.00 Issues Addressed By Sony
Another PS4 system software update gives Sony yet another chance to, well, muck things up. Released today, update 8.00 was supposed to include some changes to the Party and Messages features, add in some new avatars, and update the console’s parental controls. It likely did just that, though it also introduced a slew of problems PS4 users have been combatting ever since installing the update.
For those that have been lucky enough to avoid downloading the latest PS4 system update, said update has been causing widespread issues throughout the player base. Users have been complaining about being unable to access multiplayer games due to their software not recognizing a valid PlayStation Plus subscription, while others have simply been unable to access their friends list.
We’re aware users are experiencing difficulties accessing specific functions of PlayStation Network at this time. We’re currently investigating. Thank you for your patience.

Shown above is, as of the time of publishing, Sony’s only statement regarding all the issues caused by the PS4 system update. It’s certainly nice to hear that Sony’s aware of the issues, though that’s all we’ve got until the PlayStation company issues a new statement. The Ask PlayStation Twitter has since gone on to post about increasing HDD space on the PS4, of all things, so we can only assume our voices have been heard loud and clear.
