Prince Of Persia Reboot Reportedly In Development
Given that the Prince of Persia IP has already been rebooted in the past, one likely wouldn’t be surprised to hear that yet another reboot has reportedly been ordered. That appears to be the case here, as a new report has surfaced suggesting that despite the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time on the way, a reboot for the series is also in the works.
The news comes by way of the folks over at Okami Gaming, which reported on a recent statement made by YouTuber Lazy Assassin. The YouTuber apparently also announced the existence of the Sands of Time remake prior to Ubisoft’s official announcement, so it’s certainly possible that they may be right about this alleged reboot. “Ubisoft is working on a completely new PoP game that won’t be a remake,” said Lazy Assassin in one of their recent videos. “It’ll probably come out in 2023 or 2024.”
Indian YouTuber who leaked the Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake months in advance says a reboot is also in the works.

It’s plausible that Ubisoft chose to remake The Sands of Time in order to revitalize the fan base for the series ahead of a reboot reveal. Given this new rumor, it’s possible that Ubisoft will either continue on to remake the two earlier entries in the original series or stop after The Sands of Time and switch to reboot mode, but certainly not both. Either way, chances are we’ll find out after the release of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time on January 21st, 2021 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
