Prey Features Crafting, Alien Abilities, and Killer Weaponry in New Gameplay Video (VIDEO)

Prey, an upcoming game from Arkane Studios and produced by Bethesda Softworks, is boasting some seriously cool looking features. We got to see that the alien enemies in the game are able to blend in with their surroundings by disguising themselves as inanimate objects, and now we’re learning that there is a crafting system comprised of repurposing items they don’t need into new weapons.

In Prey, you play as the female protagonist Morgan Yu, who’s trapped on a space station with shapeshifting aliens known as the Typhon. Morgan will have to adapt her skills to neutralize the Typhon threat, and what she lacks in strength, she makes up for in creativity. She will be able to create and utilize a number of unique weapons to give her a leg up on the alien menace, like the Gloo Gun seen in the gameplay footage.

Morgan’s ordnance won’t just be limited to human design, either. The  protagonist will learn to use alien abilities too.

Gain alien abilities to develop a distinct combination of powers and upgrade your unique skills. Craft increasingly useful items with the blueprints, gadgets and tools on board the station to overcome dangerous obstacles in your way. Survive unprecedented threats with your wits and ability to improvise.

Morgan will also need to utilize her weapons and powers to interact with the environment. The space station, named Talos I, is an interactive environment that will force players to question every object and embrace their impressive arsenal to solve puzzles to progress.

Prey is projected to launch in 2017 and will be coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. You can also preorder the game for all three systems on their website.
