Pokémon Sword and Shield Legendary Pokemon Revealed (VIDEO)

Nintendo recently showcased a revealing look at the upcoming Switch titles Pokémon Sword and Shield, giving players much more substantial information about gameplay as well as supplying a nifty release date. The footage also notably featured a look at the two Legendary Pokémon at the forefront of these titles: Zacian and Zamazenta.

Revealed in the recent Pokémon Direct livestream, the wolf-based Legendaries of ‘Sword’ and ‘Shield’ were finally shown off in a short trailer. The footage follows the heavily-armored Pokémon Zamazenta as they’re confronted by Zacian, a swift, sword-brandishing canine. As these Pocket Monsters are equally, but oppositely-matched, the two ultimately opt to join forces and unleash their spectacular powered-up forms. Check it out in the video below at 14:19.

It’s currently unknown how Zacian and Zamazenta might feature in their respective stories, but it’s abundantly clear which Pokémon will show up in each game. Zacian’s mastery of the blade makes them an obvious inclusion of Pokémon Sword, whereas Zamazenta’s tough exterior makes for an sure Legendary in Pokémon Shield. If the teaser’s ending is any indication, it appears the wolf duo will team up against some kind of powerful force sometime during the games’ events. Though, we likely won’t know for sure until the game’s launch later this year.

Pokémon Sword and Shield releases for Nintendo Switch on November 15th.
