Pokemon: Let’s GO Is Giving Players A Chance To Receive Free Mewtwo

Pokemon: Let's GO

While there are plenty of artificially created Pokemon out there, few have the power and history that Mewtwo has. The creature was originally created due to some terrible gene-splicing experiments in the Pokemon universe leaving it incredibly vicious and extremely powerful. In Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, catching this creature was incredibly difficult. The creature resided in a cave that could only be accessed after trainers proved their worth within the Pokemon League by becoming the League Champion. Mewtwo is also in the remake of the title called Pokemon: Let’s GO, though if fans find themselves unable to catch the legendary Pokemon themselves, there will be a chance to get a free one soon.

The Pokemon Company is teaming up with Best Buy to provide a promotional event for the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield. The company explains in a recent announcement that between November 4th through the 14th players can head down to participating Best Buy locations to receive a free code they can use to get their own Mewtwo, though the company does also mention this will make for the perfect time for fans to pre-order their copies of Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Pokemon: Let's GO

The Mewtwo that can be acquired will be a level 70 creature with a moveset of Amnesia, Psychic, Teleport, and Recover. In order to collect their code for the free legendary creature, fans will need to download the Pokemon pass app on either iOS or Android devices before visiting a participating Best Buy location. The code or Mystery Gift will then allow players to transfer their very own free Mewtwo to either variation of Pokemon: Let’s GO with the help of the following steps.

  1. Launch your Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game.
  2. Select Communicate on the main menu.
  3. Select Mystery Gifts.
  4. Select Get with code/password, then select Yes to save your game and connect to the internet.
  5. Enter your code.
  6. Watch as the gift arrives in your game. (Pokémon will appear in your party or your Pokémon Box. Items will appear in your Bag.)

Pokemon Sword and Shield are set to launch on November 15th for the Nintendo Switch. Let us know your thoughts on the free Mewtwo event and more in the comments section below.
