Pokemon Go Kicking Off 2020 With A Legendary Shadow Pokemon And More
As holiday events wrap up for the year and prepare for another decade , there’s no stopping the rush of upcoming events already in the plans. Niantic is setting up to kick off 2020 right with more raids, a new legendary shadow Pokemon, special research and more. Check out what the team is bringing to Pokemon Go:
Pokemon Go January Events and Features
- More Team GO Rocket Special Research
- January Research Breakthrough encounter: Lapras that know Ice Shard and Ice Beam
- Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8)
- The egg-citing Adventure Sync Hatchathon is back
- The Adventure Sync Hatchathon event will return. It’s time to get a leg up on your New Year’s resolutions, Trainers! During the Adventure Sync Hatchathon, you can be rewarded with extra Stardust, Rare Candies, and a Unova Stone if you walk a certain distance. You’ll be able to find Pokémon wearing party hats by hatching Eggs and encountering Pokémon in the wild, too. More details coming soon.

- Heatran blazes back into raids

- Unova nouveau in the new year
Additional pocket monsters from the Unova region are heading to Pokemon Go next year, but Niantic wasn’t ready to reveal which ones just yet. For now, Trainers can prepare for Lapras, shadow Moltres, Adventure Sync Hatchathon, research, and Heatran raids. Sounds like a fantastic way to start the new year and kick off those resolutions!
