Amnesia Dev Studio Is Teasing Mysterious New Game

Amnesia Developer Frictional Games

2020 is nearly here, and it seems to cast a bright shadow on the future of games. The next year promises the next video game consoles from Xbox and PlayStation, and the return of several big developers and franchises as well. One developer that many have been looking forward to seeing again is Frictional Games, who became the fan-favorite developer of popular horror game franchises like Amnesia and SOMA. The developer has been quite silent recently, but now it seems that the Amnesia developer is beginning their next wave of game promotion, by teasing a mysterious new game.

Frictional Games announced the new update to their website on their official Twitter account. The Swedish developer recently unveiled and detailed the new website in a blog post, with all of this being the first wave of new content seen on the Frictional Games website in five years. What is the most interesting is that the new website arrives in tandem with a new domain name, NextFrictionalGame.com, also owned by the developer.

This domain leads to a page with little more than a single animation of a small flickering light, accompanied with links to the Frictional Games newsletter, social media accounts and the aforementioned new website. There’s no word yet on what this new game is, when it will release or even if it will even remotely continue Frictional’s tradition of horror game development, but for fans of the developer, it at least means that the flickering light of hope for new experiences from Frictional Games has not yet been snuffed out.
