PlayStation Plus Free Games For October 2021 Revealed

The start of a new month brings with it another chance for Sony to either delight or infuriate its fan base via the company’s PlayStation Plus offerings. How fans will take to this latest batch of free games remains to be seen, though chances are opinions will be split somewhere down the middle. Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus games for October 2021, featuring the normal split between PS4 and PS5 titles.

Sony took to its PlayStation Blog to reveal the latest batch of free PlayStation Plus games for October 2021. The games this time around are Hell Let Loose (PS5), PGA Tour 2K21 (PS4), and Mortal Kombat X (PS4). Here’s a breakdown of each game:

Representing this month’s free PS5 game, Hell Let Loose is a WWII-inspired multiplayer title that features 100-player battles with a “unique resource-based RTS-inspired meta-game, where Commanders direct the flow of battle and coordinate powerful in-game abilities that influence the team’s march to victory.” Think BF2, essentially, with more prominent RTS elements.

PGA Tour 2K21 is one of the two free PS4 titles through PlayStation Plus for this coming month. This year’s iteration offers a fairly similar golfing experience to its predecessors, with highlights featuring the ability to create your own clubhouse and handcraft full seasons and tournaments with unique rules and requirements.

Last but not least is Mortal Kombat X. The fighting game features an “unparalleled, cinematic presentation with all new gameplay,” with players now able to choose from up to four different fighting styles for each character in the roster.

The free PlayStation Plus games are all available starting on Tuesday, October 5, and will be available until Monday, November 1.
