Pacific Rim Uprising’s First Full Trailer Has Arrived! (VIDEO)
The release of Pacific Rim Uprising‘s first full trailer is officially upon us! Debuting during this year’s New York Comic Con, the video gives fans the best look yet at what’s to come in the follow-up to 2012’s Pacific Rim. While the sequel isn’t directed by Guillermo del Toro, it certainly seems like it will be packing quite the punch. Check out the trailer below:
John Boyega will be leading the film as Jake Pentecost, the rebellious son of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost from the first movie. After dropping out of the Jaeger program, Jake falls into the depths of the criminal world. While the Kaiju was defeated in the first installment, which takes place 10 years prior to Pacific Rim Uprising, that doesn’t mean the threat is over. With new monsters on the way, Jake’s adoptive sister Mako Mori(Rinko Kikuchi) brings the once promising Jaeger pilot back into the program. It is up to him and a group of new pilots to cease the extinction of the human race.
Boyega will also be joined by Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, and Jing Tian. Charlie Day is set to reprise his role as Dr. Newton Geiszler from the first movie. As mentioned above, del Toro has relinquished his directorial duties to Steven S. DeKnight, but he has remained on the project as a producer. Pacific Rim Uprising is set to hit theaters on March 23, 2018. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other movie news, check out the following:
