New Overwatch Hack Speeds Up Ashe's Reload Time

The latest Overwatch hero, Ashe, has done nothing short of reinvigorating the player base for the popular MMO, getting veteran players back into the game as well as inspiring newcomers to see what all the excitement is about. Unfortunately the marketing for McCree’s rival has done a better job than the actual execution of the hero, as Ashe has been plagued with some interesting bugs and glitches since she hit the live servers. Now, it appears that a player has found a way to abuse Ashe’s reload time using a rather hilarious (if polite) method.

A Redditor named imnotjay2 posted a short clip of Ashe at the training area, where she is seen firing a shot and then reloading. The reload animation takes a bit of time, and if the player presses the fire button during it, there is still a delay before the player can actually shoot again. There is, of course, a way around it, not unlike Reaper’s old method of melee bashing to hasten his reload. Check out the clip below.

Ashe can use “hello” emote to act faster out of reload animation from r/Overwatch

Before the reload actually goes through, the player presses their hotkey for saying “Hello,” which translates to Ashe stopping her reload animation in order to do the greeting. Players can then cancel the greeting by immediately firing, hence speeding up Ashe’s reload time. Issues like these certainly aren’t new to the game, and since the clip was posted in the Overwatch subreddit, it will likely be only a matter of time before Jeff Kaplan and his team issue a fix. For now, though, Ashe players can enjoy those shorter reload times.

Overwatch is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
