New The Last Of Us Part 2 Story Trailer Showcases Hard Times For Ellie & Joel (VIDEO)

The folks over at Naughty Dog have been put through the wringer lately thanks to a bevvy of leaked spoilers for The Last of Us Part 2. Leaked late last month, said spoilers have a major impact on the game and its potential audience, and as such the Sony developer has been doing everything it can in terms of damage control. Still, the new release date for the game likely isn’t changing again, and as such Naughty Dog has released a new trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 that covers some unsettling story beats for protagonists Ellie & Joel.

The new The Last of Us Part 2 trailer features a blend of previously unseen and old footage, with Naughty Dog throwing in a few flashback bits for good measure. The ‘meat and potatoes’ of it all, though, is the video’s description, with Sony stating that “after a vicious and violent event disrupts the relative peace that Ellie has found in Jackson, she sets out to bring justice to those responsible. As she hunts them down one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.” Here’s the trailer:
