New Tekken 7 Trailer Showcases Character Personalities (VIDEO)

Tekken 7 Trailer

2017 is shaping up to be the year of the fighters. With so many amazing fighting games on the horizon, fans of the genre have a lot to look forward to. Injustice 2 is just around the corner, and following closely behind in release is the highly anticipated Tekken title from Bandai Namco Entertainment. To encourage the excitement and hype for fans of the franchise, a new Tekken 7 trailer has been released that gives us a glimpse of the personality traits from a handful of the playable fighters.

Following the game’s slogan “The Best Fights Are Personal,” fans get a quick scene of Marshall Law and Feng Wei in a classic Kung-Fu melee. The two square off and deliver the epic combos that players have come to expect from the Tekken franchise. Bob and Bryan Fury take to the arena next to deliver more bone crushing combo action. Fury looks sinister as ever wearing his skull print bandanna over his face to complete his malevolent street thug ensemble. Following the Bob/Fury slobber-knocker, Devil Jin and Hwoarang go toe to toe, with Devil Jin showing off his impressive wingspan. Check out the trailer below:

The six characters featured in the above video are just a small portion of the full character roster, which will contain more than 30 fighters to choose from at launch. Aside from returning characters and a handful of new ones, some familiar faces from another fighting franchise will be appearing in the new title. Akuma from the Street Fighter series will be a playable character, and two other unnamed characters will also be making their way to the roster via DLC.

Tekken 7 is slated for a June 2 release in the US on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Sorry, Nintendo Switch players – it doesn’t look like the new title will be headed to Nintendo’s latest console. At least for the time being.
