New Tekken 7 Mod Lets You Play As FF7R's Tifa (VIDEO)

The popularity of Tifa Lockhart has absolutely skyrocketed in the past year or so thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake, with Square Enix more or less doing justice to the character beloved by many. Given the worldwide love for Tifa, it comes to very little surprise that she has found her way into Tekken 7 thanks to a new mod.

Tekken 7 modder Wolfe has officially released their new mod that replaces Filipino kickboxer Josie Rizal with Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Tifa. This particular character swap makes sense of course given that both characters share the same martial forte. A trailer for the mod showcases Tifa’s moveset while also showing off the custom-built Midgar stage and Tifa’s assorted outfits. Check it out below:

Tifa kicks some butt, doesn’t she? As Tekken 7 fans will quickly notice, no, that is not Josie Rizal’s voice overlayed onto Tifa. Modder Wolfe also implemented a voice pack for Tifa, though the pack is considered to be in an unfinished ‘beta’ state with more work coming in the future.

The mod itself comes with Tifa and 5 of 6 available outfits. These outfits are Classic, Advent Children, Exotic Dress, Mature Dress, and Cowgirl, though the mod page on Tekken Mods mistakenly refers to the Exotic Dress as Sporty Dress. Chances are the actual Sporty Dress outfit is the last one the modder is working on. The Midgar stage is a separate download and can be found right here.

Tekken 7 is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The mod only works on the PC version of the game.
