New Pokemon Rumble Rush Game Announced

The Pokemon Company is an icon in the video game industry. From animated movies, to live-action films like Detective Pikachu, to games that span generations of platforms, and trading cards – they’ve got all their bases covered. Later this year, Sword & Shield will become the first mainline title to hit the Nintendo Switch aside from Let’s Go but that’s not all they’ve got up their sleeves. Alongside Pokemon Go, another mobile game is coming soon and it’s called Pokemon Rumble Rush.

Previously revealed in 2017 as Pokeland, the mobile title makes a fierce comeback as Rumble Rush. Available now for residents of Australia, Android users can check it out right now. As for the rest of the world, we’ll have to wait. The new mobile game brings a “refreshing, fast-paced” spin to the franchise, allowing players to mow through waves of enemies with your favorite pocket monster pal. Here are a few tidbits from a statement:

As you battle wild Pokémon, some of them will join your team. Keep collecting more Pokémon to build up an assortment of heavy hitters. Plus, the more you collect the same species of Pokémon, the stronger those Pokémon will be when they join you! You’ll need to gather a crew of powerful Pokémon partners to take on the islands’ Super Bosses.

Your Pokémon partners won’t be heading into battle without any help, though! As you explore each island, you will earn gears that your Pokémon can equip.

There are two kinds of gears—power gears, which boost a Pokémon’s individual stats and make it more effective in battle, and summon gears, which allow a Pokémon to temporarily call another Pokémon into battle. Choose the best gears to help your Pokémon come out on top!

Pokemon Rumble Rush is a “free-to-start adventure” with microtransactions available within the in-game shop once it launches. Regions outside of Australia will soon see the mobile title for iOS and Android, so prepare to bash your way through hordes of other critters in various maps!
