New Overwatch Hero Teased Yet Again – Is This Their Weapon Of Choice?

New Overwatch Hero

There’s no denying that Blizzard Entertainment is rather proficient in the art of teasing fans, particularly when it comes to their popular FPS. In the latest round of possible reveals, the development team has been dropping hints that point towards a new Overwatch hero on the horizon. Most recently, the image shared with the gaming world might give us a look at said hero’s preferred weapon.

In a tweet from the Overwatch account, plans for a hammer-like weapon can be seen on a drafting table. Dubbed the Slaga v3.0, the all-but-certain bringer of destruction looks an awful lot like the rocket hammer wielded by none other than Reinhardt. This, of course, falls in line with previous teasers, one of which was a letter from Torbjorn to his wife that informed her of Reinhardt’s desire to name their unborn child. Before we get into that, check out the photo in question below:

As most of us know by now, Torbjorn and Ingrid Lindholm are parents to Brigitte Lindholm, who was revealed in the heartbreaking Honor and Glory animated short from last year’s BlizzCon. In the letter mentioned above, we learned that Torbjorn had been considering making Reinhardt the godfather of Brigitte. This would definitely explain the inspiration behind the awesome looking weapon. It’s also another piece of the puzzle that is looking at lot like Torbjorn’s daughter being the new Overwatch hero.

Only time will tell who the new character will be, but if the event taking place of Operation Uprising this year is based on the Operation White Dome referenced in prior teases, we’re sure to know more soon before a potential April release. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other news going on right now, check out the following:

What say you, gamers? Do you believe Brigitte will be the new Overwatch hero, or is Blizzard going to pull the rug out from under us at the last minute? What do you think the cat’s name is? Don’t act like you don’t notice the cat’s paw swatting at the mouse in the photo above.
