New Halo Project Teased Thanks To 343 Industries Job Listing
343 Industries has their eyes set on delivering the long-anticipated Halo Infinite to fans later this year, though not much information has been revealed about the upcoming title as of yet. While fans continue to patiently wait for the title’s release, they may soon have something else to look forward to as well. It appears that the company has plans for more than just the newest iteration in the mainline franchise in the Halo universe, specifically a new project set in the same universe.
A recent listing on 343 Industries’ career page shows an opening for a Senior Producer who will be in charge of working with the Core Services team to aid in developing “a new project in the Halo universe.” The listing doesn’t go into detail about what kind of project the developer has in mind, but the idea of more Halo certainly is intriguing nonetheless.
Whether this upcoming mystery project will be a spin-off game like the Halo Wars series or perhaps something else entirely remains to be seen. There are surely plenty of avenues that the developers could take a new Halo project, whether it focuses on a different set of characters in the current timeline, the perspective of a different species like the Covenant, or maybe even jumping into a whole new time period altogether. It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for the franchise regardless.
Halo Infinite is still on track for a Holiday release and will be available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, though no specific date has been revealed quite yet.
