Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Goes Fully Online

Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online

Due to COVID-19, a lot of in-person events have been cancelled this year, with many organizers putting virtual experiences together for fans to enjoy while they are stuck at home. That said, it appears Summer Games Done Quick 2020 will be following suit as they have cancelled the in-person portion of their speedrunning event and will now hold it entirely online.

Taking to their Twitter account, Games Done Quick announced Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online, the upcoming entirely online event that will replace the in-person version that usually takes place. “Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online will not feature a live event in Minnesota,” reads the GDQ website. “Instead, we will move the event to online-only, broadcasting the event from our studio with participants performing speedruns from the safety of their homes.”

Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online will be taking place from August 16th until the 23rd. For runners who have already submitted their entries for the in-person event, you will simply have to submit a form to keep your spot on the roster. You must have this form completed by June 17th. For those who have yet to submit for the event, submissions have been reopened and will remain as such until June 17th.
