New Genshin Impact Trailer Depicts The Tragic Backstory Of Raiden Shogun (VIDEO)

Genshin Impact Version 2.1 brought with it loads of exciting new content. One such piece of content is a fish claymore. Anyways, while players of the massively popular gacha game are making their way through the new Inazuma story content, Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has released a new story teaser trailer that provides even more backstory to Inazuma’s ruler, the Raiden Shogun.

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo took to social media to unveil a new trailer featuring the Raiden Shogun. Titled Promise of a People’s Dream, the trailer depicts the early days of Inazuma and the trials and tribulations its leader went through to preserve her land. The trailer shows her battling against ferocious beasts, each of which chip away at the Shogun until she is but a shadow of her former self. See it below:

A nation that surges ahead has become stuck in a fleeting shadow of a moment. Perhaps only if time stands still will Inazuma truly shine eternal…

Using her blade, she purged all obstacles to Inazuma’s progress, making a promise of a beautiful vision of eternity to her subjects.

Such is the singular will of the Raiden Shogun over the land of Narukami.”

The events of the trailer lead the Raiden Shogun to determining that ‘Eternity’ is what is best for her people, leading in part to the Vision Hunt Decree and the events as shown between Genshin Impact Version 2.0 through 2.1. As for how things get resolved, players will need to progress through the story to find out.

Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Android & iOS devices.
