2018 is looking to be an exciting year for films, as we will see continuations of the biggest franchises in the industry. One such sequel that many are looking forward to is the sequel to 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which served as a prequel continuation of the Harry Potter franchise. Fans expressed their elation at the confirmation that the new film, Fantstic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, would feature a young Albus Dumbledore to be portrayed by Jude Law. Now, Warner Bros. has released new Fantastic Beasts 2 photos showing the young versions of Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

Entertainment Weekly has shared the new images released by Warner Bros. Pictures showcasing the young versions of characters important to Harry Potter’s universe. The first photo shows us Jude Law as the young version of Albus Dumbledore. Given the books and quill pen seen in the image, it appears that the suave future Headmaster to one Harry Potter is being seen in his office. It is not known who the man seen behind Dumbledore is, but perhaps he could play an important part in helping Dumbledore become the man we saw in the original films.

A new photo of Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald has also been revealed, which shows him with Poppy Corby-Tuech as Vinda Rosier, who is one of Grindelwald’s most loyal followers. Depp’s Grindelwald made his debut appearance at the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, where it was revealed he was in disguise as Percival Graves the whole time before being taken into custody by MACUSA. However, based on the film’s title, it appears Grindelwald will wreck havoc on the early 20th century world. Given this, fans can rest easy knowing he won’t get away with enough to prevent The Boy Who Lived from, well, living. What do you guys think about the new Fantastic Beasts 2 photos?
