New Dr. Mario Mobile Game Announced, ‘Dr. Mario World’
The term “mobile gaming” seems to be a really sore spot for gamers lately but Dr. Mario is a classic and something that many handheld gamers enjoyed back in the day (we mean us!). The NES classic also appeared on handhelds such as the Game Boy and now it looks like the franchise is coming back into the portable realm of games: A new mobile game called Dr. Mario World.

Nintendo took to Twitter to share the big reveal and quite frankly, some of the reactions have been down right stoked. The newly revealed title will fall in line with the franchise’s roots as an “action puzzle,” though the announcement does reveal that there will be multiplayer support and “optional in-app purchases.” Not uncommon for the mobile genre, which is a big reason why so many are opposed to this medium, but hopefully it’s nothing that allows for progression and simply serves cosmetic purposes.
We can dream.
The new game will be a world-wide release, in “approximately 60 countries/regions including Japan and the United States.” You can learn even more about the upcoming mobile title with the official product page right here.
Though it may be a long shot, we’re hoping a Nintendo Switch port is in the cards. It wouldn’t be the first time a mobile game reached popularity levels that inspired full-on console ports. Titles like Fallout Shelter proved that the interest is indeed there. With Dr. Mario being such a staple in classic gaming, we’re praying that will be the case here as well.
What do you think about the newly revealed Dr. Mario game? Do you hope to see other returning classics make their way to iOS and Android devices? Sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below, or hit us up over on Twitter @YouFedtheGamers!

Navy Veteran with a penchant for the FPS genre, Chewy has all aspects of the gaming community covered. Don't expect to see him on a console any time soon, however - though he has experience in all platforms, the PC Master Race has a firm hold on him.
