New Deadpool Vs. The Punisher Marvel Comic Miniseries Announced
Last year was quite a good year for both Deadpool and The Punisher. Deadpool starred in his first film where his depiction wasn’t a complete abomination of the character, and The Punisher’s major role in season 2 of Netflix’s Daredevil series earned much critical acclaim. Now, the two popular Marvel characters are going to be going face to horribly disfigured face, as a new Deadpool Vs. The Punisher Marvel comic miniseries has been announced.
The miniseries, announced this week at Marvel.com, will see the Merc with a Mouth defending his old underworld friend, The Bank, from The Punisher, who discovers the criminal financier’s existance. This conflict will be told over five issues, with the first issue arriving some time this April. Fred Van Lente will be writing this miniseries and Pere Perez will provide the artwork for this project. The story will acknowledge the previous history that Deadpool and The Punisher share in their time spent together with the Thunderbolts, a team of mostly reformed Marvel supervillians, in previous comics.
“Wade thinks Frank is a stick in the mud while Frank thinks Wade’s healing factor has made him loud, sloppy and useless,” said Van Lente on what the two killing machines will think of each other during this miniseries. It certainly looks like this miniseries will have a conflict worthy of both the bone breaker and the fourth wall breaker. What do you guys think? Are you excited for this Deadpool Vs. The Punisher Marvel comic miniseries? What Marvel heroes would you like to see in a fight worthy of their own miniseries? Let us know in the comments below!
